How have you been impacted by infertility?
I have been impacted by fertility by being diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis and being told I would never be able to have a family unless I saw an infertility specialist and had IVF treatments.
What helped you cope with your infertility experience?
What helped me was knowing that I wasn’t alone. One in ten women suffer from endometriosis and with that comes pain, and infertility struggles along with other issues. That’s what helped me, along with having a supportive husband and family.
If you could give anyone who is experiencing infertility one piece of advice/encouragement what would it be?
I would tell them to do your research and get multiple opinions, Don’t be hard on yourself and take it one day at a time.
How did you help those around you have a better understanding of what you were experiencing?
Talking about it helps. My story has helped women across the country find a diagnosis and take control of their health and their future.
If someone knows someone who is experiencing infertility, what is the best way they could support them?
Listen, don’t judge. It was so hard to watch people around me having children and we were praying for just one. Be careful what you say around others, because you never know what battles people are facing.
What does a rainbow symbolize to you?
A rainbow symbolizes hope for the future and never to give up.
